Microcement swimming pools: a plus of personality

Renovating or building a swimming pool from scratch is an exciting project, but before applying microcement to the pool there are a number of key aspects to consider.

Choose the finish for your microcement swimming pool

Microcement admits a variety of textures and colors, so it is necessary to be very clear about which finish is the most suitable for exteriors, in this case in a swimming pool. In the case of a swimming pool, which is in permanent contact with water, a rough texture is necessary.

This type of finish is perfect for the outside edges, the side walls or the bottom of the pool. For safety reasons, it is essential to have a surface with a good grip and non-slip surface.

In general, microcement pools offer very attractive and highly resistant finishes. It is a choice that ensures that the pool will look spectacular for a long time.

Indoor or outdoor microcement swimming pool?

Microcement adapts easily to any space, regardless of whether we want to coat a swimming pool that is covered, semi-covered or outdoors. With the sealing process of microcement, the coating is provided with anti-slip properties and is impermeable to running water. This functionality makes it possible to avoid the problems of filtrations, although the best guarantee is to choose qualified workmanship and quality materials.

Get total integration with microcement in the swimming pool

Microcement is such a versatile material that it adapts to all surfaces, offering total integration between the interior of the pool and its crown. It allows a simple renovation to be carried out without building work. If the same color as the exterior is chosen, the continuity is greater and the visual effect is multiplied. Design and aesthetic harmony go hand in hand to achieve elegant finishes.

A matter of style

Microcement pools combine perfectly with any style we want to give to the house or outdoor spaces. With a thickness of just 3 millimetres, a cladding is created that enhances spaciousness and creates a visual impact that no one will be able to resist.

If we opt for a microcement pool that evokes a natural space, we can always surround it with stones and rocks to achieve a customised design.

Bet on professionals with experience in microcement pools

Coating swimming pools with microcement is a complex task that requires professionals with experience in this type of application. Unlike other types of substrates, if the pool is located outdoors, it is highly dependent on the climatic situation and, in addition, only one layer can be applied per day.

Knowledge of the product and the correct mixing ratios are essential to create a quality finish and avoid problems in the future. On the other hand, different colors cannot be combined. All these factors mean that it is essential to have a proven material and professionals who know in detail the application of microcement in swimming pools.

How to coat microcement pools?

If you are convinced by everything that microcement pools have to offer, but you still have doubts about how to apply this coating, you are in the right place. Here are some tips and a guide on how to coat a pool with microcement.

1- Applying Concrete Resin, the acrylic resin for microcement. This product facilitates the adhesion of the microcement to the substrate.

2- Apply Concrete Pool Grand, the two-component microcement for pool preparation. This layer is applied without pigment. It has a drying time of 24 hours and must then be sanded with 40-grit sandpaper.

3- Second coat of Concrete Pool Grand with pigment. The drying time is the same as the previous coat. Once the surface is dry, the surface must be sanded.

4- Apply two coats of Concrete Pool Medium, the two-component micro-cement finish for swimming pools. Both coats need a drying time of 24 hours and sanding with 80-grit sandpaper.

5- The process is completed with the sealing of the microcement coating. To do this, two coats of Primacrete Finish primer are applied by roller. Allow 4 hours between coats.
